Where to eat well in Merano

In a traditional, historical and familiar environment

Villa Heidelberg is not just a restaurant in Merano; it is a piece of city history, designed and built by the architect Tobias Brenner in 1902. The Art Nouveau villa, protected as an ensemble, could certainly tell its guests many stories from over 100 years of existence. In 1991, the Gamper family opened the Villa Heidelberg restaurant, where tradition meets modern hospitality. Thus, a meal in Merano becomes an experience full of memories for the soul, heart, and palate.

We want you to enjoy the flavours of the Alpine city, the Mediterranean and mountain aromas as well as the tradition of South Tyrolean cuisine through our creations and specialities. Discover delicious typical recipes of the area such as fried veal brains or the best homemade lasagne in Merano.

Taking celebration to an art form

Already from the outside, you can perceive a classic elegance, and it continues in the interior and in the beautiful, ample garden. We welcome you for an afternoon coffee or a stylish lunch or dinner. Villa Heidelberg is also perfect for your private parties, both for family and corporate affairs.

A tasty morsel that sweetens the soul
As long as there is whipped cream

We think you could live without sweets, but life wouldn’t be as much fun! So, we have a selection of homemade cakes, pies and ice cream to accompany a nice coffee or a cup of tea. In addition to serving you our delicacies in the typical Stube or on the sunny terrace, we are happy to pack them to take away, so you can enjoy them in the company of your loved ones.

Blissful sipping
Shaken, never stirred

The aperitif is not just a drink, it is a cultural event built around a specific moment of the day. Between afternoon and evening, aperitivo time offers the opportunity not only to prepare the digestive system for dinner, but also to chat with friends and family. At Villa Heidelberg, this moment of conviviality - accompanied by a Hugo, a Venetian or a Mimosa –heralds an unforgettable evening, regardless of your plans.
